Stud Earring
The stud earring is possibly one of the most essential earrings you can own. Their classic nature make it the perfect subtle accent. Stud earrings tend to lay flat close to the ear without dangling, looping, or hanging like other earrings. Whether they are a simple metal design or accented with a diamond or gemstone, stud earrings are comfortable to wear and are easy to match with any outfit.
Ear Cuff
Typically, ear cuffs are worn on the outer curve of the ear around the helix. Their snug fit holds the cuff to the ear without need for a piercing, which makes for the perfect ear accent for anyone regardless of piercings. Due to their petite nature and minimalist design, they work well on their own or contribute to a personalized earring stack.
Ear Climber
Whether you call them ear climbers or ear crawlers, there is one thing we can all agree on: they are fabulous! These chic and innovative pieces help highlight the whole ear as the perfect statement piece. They start at the base of the earlobe and then climb up toward the top of the ear with a sturdy backbone to hold it in place.
Drop Earring
You can think of drop earrings as an extension of stud earrings as they drop just below the ear. These earrings offer flexibility with style. Typically, drop earrings feature a simple charm that sits beneath the ear lobe.
Hoops and Huggies
Earrings that loop around the ear from the front towards the back are either hoops or huggies. Hoops have a diameter greater than 14 millimeters, while huggies have a diameter 14 millimeters and below. Hoops come in a variety of sizes, widths, and adornments that can create either a subtle moment or a bold statement piece. Huggies fit snuggly against the ear with little to no space underneath.

Perhaps you are the perfect earring stack aficionado or maybe just beginning to play with wearing more than one earring. Either way, we’re here to help and provide our tips to think about when stacking earrings.
Use earrings that fit the shape and size of your ears. If you have petite ears, too many large or heavy earrings can be painful. In that case, studs could be your friend.
Include a mix of petite and statement earrings to create a dynamic look. You can offset larger earrings with smaller styles, so things don’t get cluttered.
Think beyond just piercing your lobes. Additional piercings, such as tragus or helix piercings, add new opportunities to mix earrings of different styles in a single look.
Think about size and location. When layering earrings, start with the smallest earrings at the top of the ear and work down to the lobe with the larger earrings.
Coordinate matching or even contrasting colors to create a cohesive look. Think about how metal, diamond, and gemstone colors look together and get adventurous.
Always go with what feels right. You want to feel confident wearing your earrings. Be bold, but make sure that when you look in the mirror you can’t help but smile.
